Strong Bitcoin Hold Patterns Persist Amid Price Fetching Phase

Key Points

  • Bitcoin (BTC) investors continue to accumulate, with 147 new whale wallets reported in the past month.
  • Bitcoin ETF market growth and the upcoming halving event are potential drivers of this high accumulation.
  • The price of Bitcoin (BTC) moved slightly upwards by 0.50% in a week, staying within the $51,000 – $52,500 range.

Despite this price stability, Bitcoin investors have consistently accumulated more of the cryptocurrency.

This trend was observed by crypto analyst Ali Martinez.

    Insights on Bitcoin Accumulation

Santiment, a blockchain data analytics company, provided insights into this accumulation trend.

On February 23, Santiment reported a 7.4% rise in Bitcoin whale wallets, or addresses holding 1,000+ BTC, over the last month.

The firm also noted a minor decline in wallets holding between 1-1,000 BTC and less than 1 BTC.

These metrics suggest a high level of investor confidence in Bitcoin.

The growth in the Bitcoin ETF market is a significant contributor to this accumulation trend.

According to BitMEX Research, Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded a negative daily flow only once in the past four weeks.

Institutional interest in Bitcoin ETFs is expected to drive demand for the cryptocurrency, potentially pushing prices up to $150,000.

The upcoming Bitcoin halving event is another potential driver of this accumulation trend.

Historically, the halving event, which reduces Bitcoin supply, leads to an increase in demand and precedes a bull cycle where BTC’s value could rise significantly.

    Bitcoin Price Update

As of writing, Bitcoin trades at $51,585, marking a 1.54% gain in the last day.

Despite a 28.96% increase over the last month, Bitcoin is still 25.06% below its all-time high of $68,789.63.
