Cardano’s Decline: Traders Left in Limbo as Bitcoin & Ethereum Dominate

Despite Nearly 30% Increase in Last Month, Cardano Falls Short in Delivering Substantial Gains for Market Participants

Cardano's Decline: Traders Left in Limbo as Bitcoin & Ethereum Dominate

Key Points

  • Cardano’s transaction profitability ratio is lower than Bitcoin and Ethereum.
  • Cardano’s price could rise if its one-day circulation continues to decrease.
  • Cardano’s Profitability Compared to Bitcoin and Ethereum

Cardano’s [ADA] recent price increase hasn’t significantly impacted its network. On-chain data from Santiment reveals a negative ratio of ADA transactions in profit to loss. This contrasts with the ratios for Bitcoin [BTC] and Ethereum [ETH].

The ratio of on-chain transactions in profit to loss indicates the rate of profitable transfers. A positive ratio means more traders are profiting. A negative ratio, like ADA’s, indicates more losses than profits.

At the moment, Ethereum’s profit-to-loss ratio is 2.3 and Bitcoin’s is 1.8. Cardano’s ratio stands at -0.38. This decrease might be due to ADA’s performance throughout most of 2023.

In the last month, Cardano’s price has risen by 29.78%. However, ADA struggled in the early quarters of 2023 when Bitcoin and Ethereum prices were soaring. This explains why BTC and ETH’s 365-day performance surpassed ADA’s.

    Cardano’s Future Prospects

If Cardano maintains its recent momentum, things could change. The project and its token have faced criticism for their performance. However, reports suggest that ADA’s potential could be significant when altcoin season begins.

A price rise towards $0.70 could result in more profitable ADA transactions. Conversely, if the price falls below $0.62, the number of ADA on-chain transactions in loss could increase.

It’s also essential to consider other factors of the Cardano network. For instance, ADA’s circulation, which refers to the number of tokens used in transactions within a certain period, is crucial. As of now, Cardano’s one-day circulation has dropped to 144.42 million.

This decrease could be beneficial for ADA holders, as high circulation might imply selling pressure. The decline in circulation suggests that selling pressure could be low in the future, potentially leading to a further increase in ADA’s price.

On-chain data reveals some changes in the holder count. Santiment reports that the total number of ADA holders has decreased from 4.49 million to 4.48 million. While this difference might seem negligible, it indicates that some holders have sold off their Cardano assets.

Despite the decrease, it doesn’t necessarily mean confidence in ADA has diminished. Some participants might have shifted their focus to other tokens. In the long run, ADA could provide relief for holders who have experienced a 91.74% decrease from its all-time high.
