- BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes predicts Bitcoin’s rise to $70k due to ETFs.
- Investors are showing increased interest in Bitcoin ETFs, with a 15% increase in net inflows recorded.
Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, recently expressed a positive outlook on the future of Bitcoin (BTC).
He made these comments on a recent episode of the podcast “The Wolf of All Streets”.
Bitcoin ETFs Attracting Investors
Hayes believes that Bitcoin’s rapid rise to $70,000 is due to the availability of Bitcoin ETFs.
Recent data supports his claim, showing a 15% increase in net inflows into the top ten Bitcoin ETFs, reaching $2.57 billion just last week.
This represents a significant increase from the $2.24 billion recorded the week before.
Hayes sees this trend as a clear sign of growing interest from the global investment community.
With traditional bonds offering diminishing returns, investors are turning to Bitcoin ETFs as a potentially profitable and low-risk diversification option.
Shift Towards Bitcoin ETFs
Grant Engelbart, Vice President and Investment Strategist at Carson Group, also acknowledged the shift towards Bitcoin ETFs in a recent Bloomberg ETF IQ interview.
He noted that investors are reallocating assets from other areas of their portfolios, particularly growth funds and aggressive equity positions.
These allocations to Bitcoin ETFs are typically conservative, often constituting less than five percent of the total portfolio.
Hayes speculates that fund managers are closely monitoring the market, ready to take advantage of the over 3,000 cryptocurrencies available.
He also suggested that the introduction of altcoin ETFs could substantially increase demand, driven by the desire to trade a variety of digital assets.
Hayes hinted at a significant moment for the potential launch of an Ethereum (ETH) ETF.
He noted that including altcoins in ETFs is seen not just as expanding the crypto narrative, but also as a strategic move to attract more assets under management (AUM), thereby increasing stock valuations and generating more fee income for those in charge.
