Ethereum Holders: Consider Staking Over Trading for Higher Returns

Understanding the Rising Trend of ETH Staking Amid Low Uncertainty

Ethereum Holders: Consider Staking Over Trading for Higher Returns

Key Points

  • Ethereum staking continues to rise, with the participation rate nearing 27% as of April 1st.
  • Ethereum’s price has decreased by 6.5% in the last 24 hours, with potential for further decline.

Interest in staking Ethereum (ETH) remains strong as users find value in earning passive income through the smart contracts blockchain.

Staking Participation on the Rise

CryptoQuant data analysis reveals a steady increase in staking participation, with nearly 27% of ETH’s total circulating supply being used to secure the network as of April 1st. This is a substantial increase from the 15.89% rate seen a year ago.

The larger the amount of ETH deposited, the more secure and decentralized the network becomes. The staked supply has seen a significant increase since the Shapella Upgrade last year, which allowed stakers to withdraw their assets.

ETH Supply on Exchange Decreases

Meanwhile, the supply of ETH on exchanges has reached multi-year lows, accounting for only 11.6% of the total supply. These trends indicate a clear shift in the Ethereum investment landscape, with investors favoring guaranteed, stable returns over riskier market trading.

Despite the long-term confidence in Ethereum, the cryptocurrency has seen a 6.5% decrease in price over the last 24 hours. At the time of writing, the second-largest cryptocurrency was trading at $3,307 according to CoinMarketCap.

On-chain analyst Ali Martinez has expressed concern over the potential for Ethereum’s price to dip further to $2,850.

Negative sentiment regarding Ethereum’s spot ETF prospects could exacerbate the cryptocurrency’s current issues. Recent developments have led analysts to significantly lower the odds of approval. According to prediction markets platform Polymarket, there is currently only a 19% chance of approval.
