Key Points
- Bitcoin’s price may rise in the coming months due to increased demand and historical trends.
- Despite a recent price correction, technical indicators suggest new and long-term investors are holding their assets.
Bitcoin [BTC] experienced significant price corrections within the last 12 hours. Despite this, it remains not too far from its recent all-time high.
Interestingly, BTC’s price wasn’t the only metric to hit an ATH, its demand also saw a sharp increase.
Increased Investor Interest in Bitcoin
The surge in interest in Bitcoin among investors could be a key factor in driving further growth. Bitcoin’s next halving is expected in just a week. Meanwhile, its demand has soared. Crypto-investor and influencer, Elja, recently highlighted that the demand for BTC from accumulation addresses has exceeded the supply from miners for the first time in BTC’s history.
CryptoQuant also noted an influx of new investors in the market. Analyst CryptoDan pointed out that Bitcoins held for more than 6 months indicate that the number of Bitcoins traded for less than 6 months has increased. This suggests a surge of new investors. Similar patterns have previously been followed by bull rallies.
Price Predictions and Market Trends
Historically, Bitcoin reached its peak 9 months after a large influx of new investors in 2017, and 7 months later in 2021. Currently, about 3 months have passed since new investors began to flow in. This could mean a few more months before BTC hits a new peak. Therefore, those predicting $100k and $150k prices may not be far off.
However, this peak may be delayed due to the cryptocurrency’s recent price correction. As per CoinMarketCap, BTC was down by over 5% in 24 hours. This fall also impacted other cryptocurrencies.
Despite this, the chances of new investors fueling a bull rally seem high. Metrics indicate that not only new investors but also long-term holders are now inclined to hold their assets. This trend is evident by the green binary CDD.
On the price charts, however, BTC’s indicators were seeing red. Both the CMF and MFI experienced a dramatic dip, with the former close to 0 on the charts now.
