Key Points
- Ethereum, Solana, and BNB experienced significant gains, despite Bitcoin’s dominance decreasing.
- Analysts predict a potential altcoin season due to historical trends and current market conditions.
Bitcoin’s value climbed above $63,000 in the last 24 hours, leading to a positive ripple effect on various altcoins.
Despite this, Bitcoin’s dominance in the market has been on the decline, hitting a critical level that suggests an upcoming altcoin season.
Analysts’ Predictions
Crypto-analyst Captain Faibik highlighted an interesting development in a recent tweet.
He noted that Bitcoin’s dominance is inside a rising wedge pattern, suggesting a likely fall in the coming days.
This could be a positive development for altcoins, as their market cap could surge.
Another analyst, Mags, shared a tweet referencing a historical event.
In 2020, the altcoin market was in an accumulation phase which ended in the second half of the year, sparking a significant bull rally.
Mags believes a similar trend could occur, increasing the chances of an altcoin season.
Altcoin Performance
According to CoinMarketCap, Ethereum (ETH), the leading altcoin, increased its price by more than 4.5% in the last 24 hours.
BNB and Solana (SOL) also showed bullish behavior, with their values increasing by 3.6% and 5%, respectively.
However, investor confidence in these altcoins remained low, despite their recent price increases.
Ethereum’s open interest, however, slightly rose with its price, suggesting the prevailing price trend is likely to continue.
Solana’s open interest also registered an uptick.
On the other hand, the open interest for BNB fell, despite its price uptick.
Technical indicators for Ethereum and Solana suggest that their prices might not rise explosively in the short term.
These data sets will be interesting to watch as we anticipate a new altcoin season.
