He has recently made a bold prediction that the leading digital asset will reach a value of $500k before the end of Trump’s presidency.

The year 2025 started with ambitious predictions for Bitcoin, including banks offering BTC services and a price target of $150k. However, two months in, BTC is still valued under $100k. The market has taken a different turn, with investors being cautious and seeking quick profits.
Despite the current market trends, Standard Chartered’s $500k prediction might not be far-fetched. This prediction was made during Trump’s administration and is based on specific reasons. Since the elections in November, BTC has seen a 30% increase with $90k being the average market bottom. To reach $500k, Bitcoin would need to see a 455% increase before 2028.
The Impact of Trump’s Policies
Looking back, BTC had a growth of 156% in 2024. If similar growth is achieved in the coming years, Standard Chartered’s prediction could be accurate. A significant part of BTC’s 156% year-to-date increase is due to U.S Spot ETFs, which have invested billions into Bitcoin. BlackRock (IBIT) alone saw its Bitcoin holdings increase by a staggering 726%, now holding 585,393 BTC. BlackRock also plans to launch a Bitcoin ETP (Exchange-Traded Product) in Europe, potentially attracting more global exposure and new capital into the market.
With these factors considered, Standard Chartered’s bold Bitcoin prediction seems more like a calculated bet based on strong fundamentals rather than mere speculation.
