Key Points
- Evernorth launches Japanese X account ahead of pending Nasdaq SPAC listing.
- SBI’s $200M backing links Evernorth to Japan’s established XRP infrastructure.
Evernorth, a San Francisco-based digital asset treasury company focused on XRP, has launched a Japanese-language X account as it prepares for a proposed Nasdaq listing under ticker XRPN through a SPAC merger with Armada Acquisition Corp II.
The move marks its first disclosed operational step in Japan, while the SEC registration for the merger remains ineffective and Armada shareholders have not yet voted on the transaction.
Japan-Focused Communication Initiative
The new account states that Japan supported XRP early and outlines plans to share market analysis in accessible language.
Evernorth specified that the channel will not discuss prices, positioning it as an informational platform rather than investment guidance under Japanese regulatory standards.
No local office, licensing arrangement, product rollout, or Japan-specific fundraising vehicle has been announced alongside the launch.
The company’s headquarters remain in San Francisco, and no staffing or partnership details tied to Japan have been disclosed.
SBI Backing and Listing Status
SBI Holdings has committed $200 million to Evernorth’s planned fundraising round, representing the largest disclosed anchor investment in the transaction.
SBI’s digital asset presence in Japan includes retail and institutional XRP services through SBI VC Trade, operating under the country’s payment services framework.
In June 2026, Ripple and SBI introduced RLUSD, a dollar-denominated stablecoin, in Japan following Financial Services Agency approval, with distribution handled by SBI VC Trade.
SBI has also moved to acquire domestic exchange Bitbank, expanding its digital asset infrastructure.
Evernorth has not detailed how its Japanese engagement will integrate with RLUSD, SBI VC Trade, or Bitbank, and current links appear limited to shared investor alignment.
The proposed SPAC merger with Armada Acquisition Corp II has received unanimous board approval from both companies.
An amended SEC registration statement was filed in June 2026 but has not yet become effective, and the merger remains subject to shareholder approval and other closing conditions.
According to earlier filings, Evernorth holds approximately 473 million XRP and is targeting more than $1 billion in committed capital from backers including Ripple, Pantera Capital, Kraken, Arrington Capital, and SBI.
Proceeds are intended primarily for open-market XRP purchases, though the final treasury size and Nasdaq listing timeline remain contingent on regulatory effectiveness and transaction completion.
