Key Points
- Analysts predict Solana (SOL) could reach $1k per token, potentially outperforming Ethereum (ETH) in this cycle.
- Ethereum proponents, however, believe the altcoin could climb to $10k.
The debate over whether Solana (SOL) or Ethereum (ETH) will be the top performer of this cycle is once again heating up on Crypto-Twitter.
Each camp is confident in their respective token’s potential.
Recent Performance
Over the last 24 hours, SOL has taken the lead, with a 9.5% increase, pushing its price above $140.
ETH, on the other hand, saw a modest 3% growth, based on CoinMarketCap data.
In the final quarter of 2023, Solana outshone Ethereum in terms of price performance.
Crypto analysts like Ansem are extremely bullish about SOL’s potential, dismissing Ethereum’s advantages over Solana.
Analysts’ Predictions
Ansem stated that Solana outperforms Ethereum in every aspect, predicting a potential 7x surge from its current levels.
This prediction is based on Solana’s impressive growth in decentralized volume, daily active users, and validator data.
Ethereum’s community, however, is optimistic about its potential to reach $10k.
Community members like Ryan Adams of Bankless believe that this target should have already been achieved.
Adams pointed to Ethereum’s significant revenues, claiming that Ethereum has generated nearly $1 billion in earnings over the past 18 months.
Despite Ethereum’s higher revenue, Total Value Locked (TVL), and overall market cap, Solana surpasses Ethereum in several areas.
However, for long-term holders, price chart performance is the most critical factor.
A potential 3x increase for ETH from its current price of $3.1k to $10k is significantly lower than SOL’s projected 7x surge.
In other words, SOL might offer higher returns if the bull market explodes.
However, ETH could potentially catch up if the United States approves Spot Ethereum ETFs.
