Key Points
- Cryptocurrency has become a significant issue among voters for the 2024 U.S. Presidential elections.
- The survey indicates a growing interest and openness to crypto investment across party lines.
Cryptocurrency is gaining momentum as a central issue among voters ahead of the 2024 United States presidential elections.
The survey, conducted by Harris Poll on behalf of Grayscale, involved 1,768 adults and took place from the 30th of April to the 2nd of May.
Increasing Interest in Crypto Investment
Grayscale’s published results showed an increased prominence of Bitcoin (BTC) due to macro developments and its maturation as an asset.
The survey reported that, “Nearly a third of voters (32%) say that they are more open to learning about crypto investing or actually investing in crypto since the beginning of the year.”
An upward trend was highlighted where more voters now view crypto as a favorable long-term investment (23% compared to 19% last November).
Political Parties and Crypto
The survey also revealed that crypto is a bipartisan issue, with similar ownership rates among Republicans (18%) and Democrats (19%).
Voters are divided on which party is more favorable to the industry, with 30% each believing that both the Democratic and Republican parties have the most favorable position on crypto policies.
This indicates that support for crypto isn’t heavily skewed toward one party, showing a balanced interest across the political spectrum.
As crypto gains popularity among voters, especially the younger ones, the next government’s approach to cryptocurrency will be crucial.
