"Bitcoin Breaks Records: Newly Minted Highs Reach 14 Countries Globally"

Key Points

  • Bitcoin is setting new all-time highs in 14 countries grappling with economic and financial crises.
  • Crypto analyst Lark Davis attributes this to the collapse of fiat currencies due to high inflation and political instability.
  • Bitcoin is demonstrating its value as the ultimate store of value, with its adoption rapidly spreading across hundreds of countries. The cryptocurrency has set new all-time highs in 14 countries that are currently facing economic and financial crises.

Bitcoin’s Success Amid Global Economic Turmoil

Crypto analyst and Bitcoin investor, Lark Davis, recently shared on X (formerly Twitter) that Bitcoin has reached new record highs in 14 countries. The rise of cryptocurrency as an alternative currency has been particularly significant in countries where the local fiat currency is depreciating.

Davis suggests that fiat currencies are collapsing, a situation he attributes to high inflationary pressures and political instability in many countries.

The countries that have seen record-breaking Bitcoin highs include Japan, Argentina, Laos, Congo, Ghana, Turkey, Burundi, Sudan, Lebanon, Malawi, Egypt, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria. These countries are reportedly experiencing high inflation, leading to a decrease in the value of their fiat currencies.

Significant devaluation of fiat currencies has been observed in countries such as Turkey and Nigeria. Even Japan, known for its technological advancements and strong economy, has seen a depreciation in the Yen against the United States dollar (USD).

The ongoing devaluation of these national currencies relative to the USD has had a significant impact on the cost of living for citizens. This has led to a shift towards Bitcoin, as individuals seek to leverage the digital currency’s robust financial technology and rising value to hedge against economic instability.

Bitcoin enthusiast, Balaji, has highlighted that Bitcoin has become a crucial lifeboat in these 14 countries, which are home to over 1 billion people and have a combined Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of $7 trillion. He also noted the negative impact the US dollar has had on the fiat currencies of many countries over the years.

According to Balaji, “The dollar is a vampire. It drains the life out of every other fiat currency. But then Bitcoin flips the dollar. Because since Bitcoin’s inception, USD has collapsed against BTC by six orders of magnitude. Just a few more to go.”

Recently, Bitcoin bulls have been driving the price towards the $60,000 mark. Dan Tapiero, Founder and CEO of 10T Holdings, remains bullish on Bitcoin, predicting that its price could reach between $150,000 and $200,000 by 2024.

Tapiero suggests that Bitcoin, which is up almost 100%, is set to jump even higher. He believes that if Bitcoin manages to break the $70,000 threshold, it could shoot straight to $90,000, setting a new all-time high.

At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $59,142, reflecting a 1.75% increase in the last 24 hours and a 10.21% rise over the past week, according to CoinMarketCap.
