President Bukele further emphasized his unwavering faith in Bitcoin’s inherent value, stating that the revenue generated from various avenues, including their passport program, converting Bitcoin to USD for local businesses, mining, and government services, would be substantial.
Insights from Tim Draper
Venture capitalist Tim Draper provided insights into Bitcoin, crypto politics, and El Salvador’s budding relationship with the cryptocurrency in a recent Web3 Deep Dive channel interview. He predicted that El Salvador could transition from being a crime-ridden country to one of the wealthiest due to its Bitcoin strategy.
Draper also commented on the resistance to crypto adoption, attributing it to a fear of change and a desire for control. He subtly criticized the US for its cautious stance on cryptocurrency, emphasizing the country’s innovative spirit.
Despite recent achievements like the SEC’s approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs, Draper highlighted the ongoing challenges of regulatory uncertainty, particularly in the US. As the US elections draw near, investors are closely watching the cryptocurrency policies of presidential candidates, especially in light of the Biden administration’s cryptocurrency regulations.
