Key Points
- More than $638 million in token unlocks are scheduled amid weak altcoin market conditions.
- Large one-time and daily releases may increase short-term selling pressure.
Over $638 million worth of tokens are expected to enter circulation over the next seven days, based on data from Tokenomist.
These releases arrive while the altcoin market is facing low liquidity and reduced buyer demand.
Major Token Unlocks This Week
Several large one-time unlocks valued above $5 million are scheduled between Feb. 2 and Feb. 9.
HYPE leads by value, with 9.92 million tokens, worth over $300 million, set to enter circulation.
Other sizable one-time releases include XDC Network, Berachain, and Ethena, each with token distributions valued at roughly $30 million.
In addition to single events, multiple projects are adding supply through linear daily unlocks exceeding $1 million per day.
RAIN stands out among these schedules, with 9.41 billion tokens worth more than $90 million expected to be released this week.
Solana (SOL) is also scheduled to unlock around 479,120 SOL tokens valued at approximately $48 million, representing a small portion of its circulating supply.
Other projects with notable daily releases include Canton (CC), Official Trump (TRUMP), and River (RIVER).
Large token unlocks increase the number of tradable tokens, and during weaker market phases, they can intensify short-term price pressure.
Altcoin Market Under Pressure
The upcoming supply increases coincide with continued weakness across the broader altcoin market.
Total altcoin market capitalization fell by about 4.4% on Feb. 2, extending losses seen over the prior week.
Ethereum (ETH) fell sharply on the day, while other major altcoins such as BNB and XRP also recorded notable declines.
According to TradingView data, the altcoin market cap has dropped below its 100-day simple moving average, a level that previously failed during the 2022 bear market.
Technical patterns on longer timeframes indicate increased distribution activity rather than accumulation across the altcoin sector.
Market observers note that any near-term rebound in altcoins could reflect temporary relief rather than a sustained recovery.
