A prominent whale in the Ethereum [ETH] market has recently sold off seven thousand tokens, raking in over $16 million in profits.
Ethereum’s Struggles
Ethereum, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency, has been grappling with instability following a significant drop in value, leaving investors apprehensive.
Data from Lookonchain indicates that an Ethereum whale, who purchased the coin approximately a year ago, is now cashing in.
The whale transferred 12,906 ETH, equivalent to $24 million at current prices, from Binance [BNB] to Lido [LDO] last year.
Following a minor market crash on April 30th, the whale withdrew 7,000 of these coins from Lido and moved them to Binance, yielding a profit of over $16 million.
Market Outlook
WhaleStats data reveals that BSC Chain Ethereum whales are currently in a state of extreme fear.
Despite this, Ethereum remains the most traded and held token by these whales, who are closely monitoring market trends.
At present, the cryptocurrency market is still in the red, with Ethereum valued at $3,208, marking a slight increase of 0.02 percent over the past day and 0.8% over the past week.
Crypto analyst Ashcrypto predicts a positive turn for Ethereum’s price, forecasting a breakout in the third quarter based on historical patterns from 2020 and 2021.
He suggests that Ethereum could reach $4,000.
KEN Crypto, another analyst, notes a slight shift in investor sentiment, with a small bullish sentiment emerging due to the coin maintaining above the 100 Simple Moving Average (SMA).
However, Ethereum bulls are facing significant resistance, struggling to exceed key higher levels.
IntoTheBlock’s analysis reveals a strong correlation between Ethereum’s price and the volume of large transactions, indicating that these transactions significantly impact Ethereum’s price movements.
A decrease in these transactions in April coincided with a drop in Ethereum’s price, suggesting that whales are exerting influence on the market by increasing selling pressure.
