Exploring Paper Handing: Is this the Best Strategy for Bitcoin Handling?

Exploring the Impact of Bitcoin's Volatility on Investor Decisions and Market Dynamics

Exploring Paper Handing: Is this the Best Strategy for Bitcoin Handling?

Key Points

  • Bitcoin addresses holding between 0.0001 to 1000 coins are decreasing their balance.
  • Open Interest decrease suggests Bitcoin might retract from $70,000.

Bitcoin holders with balances ranging from 0.0001 to 1000 coins are reducing their holdings.

This was discovered after analyzing on-chain address balances.

Bitcoin Supply Distribution

On March 26, the Bitcoin supply distribution was examined.

The findings indicated that retail holders were selling their coins prematurely, while whales were purchasing them at lower prices since March 20.

The term ‘paper handing’ in crypto refers to selling a coin before it reaches its full potential.

This group began selling when the Bitcoin price fell below $62,000.

However, the value has since risen above $70,000, suggesting that the decision to sell may have been hasty.

Bearish Events and Bitcoin

Recent events surrounding Bitcoin have been bearish, which may explain the sell-off.

There have been several reports on how spot Bitcoin ETFs have influenced price action.

Outflows have been significant since last week, leading some holders to book profits and potentially buy back at lower prices.

Data from SoSoValue indicates that ETF inflows have begun to increase.

If this trend continues, Bitcoin’s price may also rise.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) suggests that another buying opportunity may arise.

However, it remains uncertain whether these investors will take advantage of this opportunity.

At the time of writing, the RSI reading was 78.61, indicating that the token was overbought.

Potential Price Retraction

Under these conditions, Bitcoin may retract.

In a highly bullish scenario, the coin’s value could drop to $64,800.

If bears fail to pull back the price, the coin could rally toward $73,000.

Open Interest (OI) was also examined and found to have dropped to $5.60 billion.

A decrease in OI suggests that market participants are reducing their net positioning and that sellers are becoming more aggressive.

With the price rising and OI falling, the uptrend’s strength may weaken, potentially leading to a Bitcoin retraction.

The Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) ratio was another metric evaluated.

An increase in the MVRV ratio indicates a greater willingness to sell.

If traders decide to realize recent gains, Bitcoin may experience a decline.

Furthermore, the volatility surrounding the coin may increase, suggesting that traders should exercise caution when opening cryptocurrency-related contracts.
