The ERC-404 token standard, a blend of ERC-721 and ERC-20, is making waves in the cryptocurrency market. This innovative standard offers a unified platform for project developers to optimize liquidity for their projects. The ERC-404 standard is quickly gaining traction in the crypto world, with tokens based on this standard showing impressive performance. Let’s take a look at the market leaders in this area.
The Emergence of Pandora in ERC-404 Adoption
The Pandora (PANDORA) project has played a crucial role in promoting the ERC-404 standard. The success of the project speaks volumes about the effectiveness of this standard. Pandora officially launched on February 2, 2024, but it wasn’t until a few days post-launch that the project started garnering attention.
Investors began recognizing the potential of the technology, and its price started to climb. Pandora’s use of both the ERC-721 and ERC-20 token standards enables it to offer substantial liquidity for non-fungible tokens (NFTs), traditionally known for their low liquidity. As the project grew in popularity, its price skyrocketed from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars.
In the span of three days, PANDORA’s price surged from under $5,000 per token to over $23,000 per token on Thursday. This represents a whopping 400% price surge, boosting its market cap to nearly $200 million. One of the token’s biggest selling points is its high liquidity, currently over $36 million.
DeFrogs Following in Pandora’s Footsteps
With any innovative narrative, competition is inevitable. One such project rising to compete with Pandora is DeFrogs. The project comprises 10,000 frog PFPs developed using the ERC-404 standard. This implies that whenever users purchase the DeFrogs token, they are also minting an NFT.
The use of the ERC-404 standard ensures that DeFrogs can consistently provide liquidity for investors when they decide to exit their positions. Riding the wave of Pandora’s success, DeFrogs has already seen a 2,000% increase in the last three days. At the time of writing, it is trading at $2,800 per token, with a market cap of $27.6 million.
Monkees Enters the Scene with ERC-404
No new NFT token standard would be complete without a monkey PFP project, which is where Monkees comes into the picture. Although newer than Pandora and DeFrogs, Monkees has greatly benefited from their success.
The Monkees project is a collection of monkey PFPs developed on the same ERC-404 standard. Launched in the early hours of Thursday, the token’s price has soared over 2,000% from its launch price, trading at $17,000 per token at the time of writing. This puts its market cap at $1.8 million with liquidity of $256,000.
Besides these projects, Punks404 (PUNK) and EtherRock404 (ROCK) are other tokens leveraging the ERC-404 standard. While PUNK’s market cap is still relatively low at $760,000, ROCK has found more success with a market cap of $4.4 million.
