- MetaMask integrates tokenized US stocks, ETFs, and commodities through Ondo Global Markets.
- Non-US users gain self-custodial access to over 200 US securities on Ethereum.
MetaMask and Ondo Finance have introduced an integration that enables tokenized US stocks, ETFs, and commodities within the MetaMask wallet through Ondo Global Markets.
The service allows non-US MetaMask mobile users to access more than 200 tokenized US securities issued on the Ethereum mainnet, including shares of Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Tesla, alongside commodity-backed ETFs.
According to a Feb. 3 press release, the integration is now live and represents one of the first examples of native tokenized US securities access within a major self-custodial wallet for users outside the United States.
Growing Adoption of Tokenized Securities
Demand for tokenized versions of stocks, ETFs, and commodities has grown across digital asset markets as investors seek blockchain-based exposure to traditional financial instruments.
While online brokerages and fintech platforms such as Robinhood and E-TRADE offer access to US securities, self-custodial options tied directly to blockchain networks have remained relatively limited.
Earlier this year, Ondo Finance expanded its tokenized asset offerings to additional blockchain networks, increasing competition among providers seeking to capture market share in tokenized equities.
Industry discussions have also highlighted tokenization as a potential method to address limitations in traditional trading infrastructure, particularly during periods of high volatility and elevated trading volumes.
The MetaMask and Ondo Finance integration provides users with 24/5 access to traditional markets alongside continuous, 24/7 token transfers within the MetaMask mobile wallet.
