Key Points
- XRPL stablecoin supply rose 22% to $762M, led by RLUSD dominance.
- RWA growth expands, but only 110 holders reflect limited adoption.
The XRP Ledger’s stablecoin supply has increased by 22% in recent weeks, reaching approximately $762 million. Most of this liquidity is attributed to RLUSD, which accounts for an estimated 83–88% of XRPL-native stablecoins.
Monthly transfer volume climbed 123% to $4.71 billion, while 30-day stablecoin capitalization surpassed $888.5 million. The consistent rise indicates sustained network activity rather than a temporary spike.
According to data from DefiLlama, stablecoin liquidity on XRPL is approaching levels seen on larger chains. Meanwhile, Bitcoin and Ethereum continue to dominate broader digital asset liquidity across ecosystems.
What Is Driving XRPL’s Stablecoin Expansion
RLUSD was introduced in December 2024 as a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin regulated by the New York Department of Financial Services. Its reserves are reportedly held 1:1 with U.S. dollars at BNY Mellon.
Through 2025, issuance increased alongside exchange integrations and pilot programs. After remaining below $100 million for much of that year, XRPL stablecoin supply surpassed $200 million in November and continued expanding into mid-2026.
Although RLUSD dominates on XRPL, a large share of its total supply operates on Ethereum for decentralized finance use cases. The $762 million figure reflects the portion native to XRPL rather than the full cross-chain circulation.
The 123% jump in monthly transfer volume suggests higher utilization, though available data does not specify whether activity is driven by institutional flows, internal treasury movements, or liquidity provisioning.
RWA Growth and Concentration on XRPL
XRPL’s tokenized real-world asset (RWA) value has reached $3.57 billion, with approximately $385 million actively distributed on-chain. The difference reflects assets registered on the ledger versus those currently circulating.
A Q1 2026 report by Messari placed XRPL’s RWA market capitalization at $2.25 billion, marking 124% quarter-over-quarter growth and ranking it among the top global networks for tokenized assets.
Notable contributors include OpenEden’s TBILL Vault, Ondo Finance’s U.S. government bond fund, and RLUSD. In May 2026, a tokenized U.S. Treasury redemption pilot involving Ondo Finance, JPMorgan Kinexys, Mastercard, and Ripple settled in approximately 4.2 seconds.
Despite infrastructure expansion, XRPL records 110 RWA holders as of June 2026. With $3.57 billion represented, this implies high average positions and suggests institutional concentration rather than broad user adoption.
The gap between total asset value and actively circulating on-chain value raises questions about liquidity depth and the pace of wider participation. Whether additional institutions enter the network or current participants consolidate positions remains to be seen.
