According to data from LunarCrush, there has been a noticeable decrease in Bitcoin’s social activity. This is a significant development as it’s the first time this year that the social activity has dropped so low.
The social activity was around 98 million at the time of reporting, nearing a critical threshold. This decline might be a result of Bitcoin’s recent struggle to maintain its price in the $61,000 range.
Bitcoin’s Social Dominance
Despite the drop in social activity, Bitcoin continues to hold a significant portion of the social dominance in the cryptocurrency discussions. The Social Dominance has remained within the 26% range between the previous trading session and the time of writing.
The Social Volume ended on the 8th of May with a count of 4,622. While not the highest for this year, it is also not the lowest, indicating Bitcoin’s continued substantial presence in cryptocurrency discussions.
There has been a recent decline in Bitcoin’s 24-hour active addresses compared to activity levels observed earlier in the month and the previous month. However, the number of active addresses was around 721,000 at the time of writing, indicating a significant volume of activity on the network despite the recent dip.
