Key Points
- Bitcoin’s price has been consolidating near the $70k mark, with potential to fall near $60k.
- Despite bearish indicators, investors continue to show confidence in Bitcoin and continue to accumulate.
Bitcoin’s price has seen little movement in the past day. Despite this, market indicators suggest a bearish outlook for the cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin’s Consolidation Phase
Bitcoin has been in a consolidation phase for several days, hovering near the $70k mark. There is speculation that the cryptocurrency could fall to the $60k zone in the near term. If this happens, it could present an opportunity for investors to increase their holdings.
Despite the potential for a price drop, more than 97% of Bitcoin holders are currently in profit. While this may seem positive, it could potentially lead to increased selling pressure as investors cash out.
Investor Confidence and Buying Pressure
Despite these concerns, Bitcoin investors have demonstrated considerable confidence in the cryptocurrency, continuing to accumulate even as red flags emerge. According to a tweet by a popular crypto analyst, Bitcoin has a strong accumulation score, even as it consolidates around all-time highs.
Data also suggests that buying pressure remains high. Bitcoin’s exchange reserve is green, indicating that US investors are predominantly buying. Furthermore, Bitcoin’s supply on exchanges has decreased over the past week, reinforcing the idea that investors are buying Bitcoin even as it consolidates.
However, this high buying pressure may not be enough to fend off the bears. Market indicators suggest a price correction is likely, increasing the chances of Bitcoin dropping to $60k. This is indicated by a bearish crossover in the MACD and a downtick in the Relative Strength Index (RSI) after days of sideways movement.
Bitcoin’s Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) has also fallen sharply and is headed towards the neutral mark. These indicators suggest that Bitcoin may soon experience a price correction. As a result, investors may want to wait before increasing their accumulation.
